A drink before or after visiting the museum? Or a break during a walk around Ghent? Step into our museum café or find a seat in the lovely courtyard garden. A popular stop for residents of Ghent, a discovery for many passers-by. The courtyard garden also hosts concerts and activities during events like the Gentse Feesten, Patersholfeesten and Museumnight.

A safe and pleasant café visit

The museum café was temporarily closed to counter the spread of the coronavirus and to keep our volunteers and visitors safe. It reopened its doors on Thursday 18 June with the necessary safety measures. Want to have a drink? Then please observe the following measures:

Enjoy your drink at a table…

  • Our volunteers will gladly serve you. You cannot order at the bar.
  • 4 people belonging to one group per table

...and take care of yourself and the others!

  • Wear a mouth mask on arrival, departure and when walking around. You can take off your mouth mask at the table.
  • Relax while keeping sufficient distance (1.5 m).
  • Regularly wash your hands with soap and water in the toilets.
  • Electronic payment is preferable (contactless or with cotton swabs).

On arrival we ask 1 person per group to leave his/her contact details in order to contact everyone if necessary.
